OK, not much commentary this week, just a quick run-down of the shows
this week (this will probably the case most of the time now I have begun at
college).
Monday 27th: Mandy
Winnings: £25,000
Dealt at: 5-box
Highest offer: £25,000 (5-box)
Box value: £100
Tuesday 28th: Julia
Winnings: £10,000
Dealt at: 8-box
Highest offer: £23,500 (11-box)
Box value: £10
An amazing run of luck early on saw
Julia reach 11-box with just two blues left. However, a bad round saw the
£250,000 and two more of the Power 5 go, and the offer crashed from £23,500, to
£10,000. She decided to call it a deal, which proved wise, as the game folded
completely afterwards.
Wednesday 29th: Jayden
Winnings: £16,500
Dealt at: 8-box
Highest offer: £33,000 (5-box)
Box value: £1
Thursday 30th: Viv
Winnings: £20,000
Dealt at: 5-box
Highest offer: £27,777 (2-box)
Box value: 50p
Haven’t seen this one yet, as I
missed it due to a hasty rescheduling to More4 due to the Paralympics (all next
week’s shows will be on More4), and it’s not on 4OD yet.
Friday 31st: Ady
Winnings: £17,000
Dealt at: 11-box
Highest offer: £71,000 (2-box)
Box value: £250,000 (hypo-swapped
for £1,000)
Controversial game, in more ways
than one. He may have had three blues left at 11-box, when he dealt, but he was
right to think his game had been too lucky, and would turn bad, as boards that
strong can suck a player on into a crash. He was unlucky, after his pragmatic
deal, to have the £250,000 on the table, but the hypo-swap meant he wouldn’t
have won it had he gone all the way.
Sunday 2nd: Janna
Winnings: £16,000
Dealt at: 5-box
Highest offer: £26,000 (2-box)
Box value: 1p
So, a merely average week that will
probably be remembered more for the reschedulings rather than the shows themselves,
which, except Julia’s and Ady’s, were largely forgettable (no offence intended
to those involved). Next week’s weekday shows are on More4 at 3:20pm, BTW.
