Checked the Radio Times website yesterday, and flipped forwards to Monday 16th. I was delighted to find 'University Challenge' at 8pm on BBC2.
So, the show is coming back, and is not, as I speculated, being kept back until after the Olympics. This is very good news. It feels like it's been away for ages, mainly because it has.
I hope the BBC press people have learned from previous years not to publish draws for future matches too far in advance, just in case it gives a result away. For example, last year, before the final quarter-final between Oxford Brookes and York, the listings revealed Sheffield and York would be playing the first semi-final the following week, thus making York odds on favourites to win the final quarter-final, which is a shame, especially as they defeated Oxford Brookes by just five points.
Speaking of York, they will play the first match against the Trinity Laban College of Music and Dance, which will be making its debut on the programme. Sounds like an interesting match; will wait and see.
